The night of August 12-13 this year will be the best time to watch the Perseid meteor shower. This was reported in an interview with Moscow 24 by the scientific director of the Moscow Planetarium Faina Rubleva.

She stressed that the meteor shower began on July 17 and will end on August 31.

"But the most intense meteor shower is expected on the night of the 12th to the 13th. You will be able to see up to 100 meteors per hour," the expert said.

According to her, meteors will be predominantly white that night, but in some cases yellowish and greenish ones will be visible - everything will depend on the chemical composition of dust particles that enter the Earth's atmosphere.

Rubleva noted that the Perseid meteor shower can be called the most famous meteor shower due to the fact that it is very abundant.
