The Kronstadt District Court of St. Petersburg has remanded local resident Artem Ishchenko into custody on charges of aiding terrorist activity. The measure of restraint in the form of arrest will last until August 10, 2025.

According to the investigation materials, in February 2025, the suspect received an order via messenger to conduct reconnaissance of the Leningrad Naval Base. Ishchenko agreed to carry out this order and, using his personal phone, took photographs and prepared text reports on the location of strategic objects, which he then handed over to the customer.

After his arrest in June, the accused fully admitted his guilt and did not challenge the chosen measure of restraint. The case is being investigated under Part 3 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Earlier it was reported that 49 people died in South Africa as a result of snowfalls and floods .
