Rospotrebnadzor head Anna Popova has announced serious problems with the reliability of data published by the World Health Organization. According to her, this creates difficulties in assessing real epidemiological risks for the population of different countries.
"[There is] a crisis in the reliability of the data that is published by different countries, that is published by the World Health Organization," the head of Rospotrebnadzor said.
As reported by TASS , Popova cited the example of official WHO statistics on cholera, which indicate about 4 million cases of the disease annually with 143 fatalities. At the same time, other reports from the same organization include figures of 800 thousand cases and 5 thousand deaths. According to the head of Rospotrebnadzor, such discrepancies indicate shortcomings in the system of registering and identifying diseases.
Popova emphasized that the lack of reliable data from individual countries creates a false impression of a favorable epidemiological situation. However, subsequent events often show that the real state of affairs is much worse than stated.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Defense is demanding that 346 million rubles be recovered from the Federal State Unitary Enterprise Main Directorate of Special Construction.
