In Kemerovo, doctors from the Kuzbass Cardiology Dispensary saved a patient whose heart stopped beating for 15 minutes. The woman was in a state of clinical death – the causes were pulmonary embolism and obstructive shock, said Andrey Tarasov, Minister of Health of the Kemerovo Region.
The minister specified that everything happened late in the evening, when the woman's condition deteriorated sharply. The ambulance medics who arrived took her to the hospital, where an anti-shock ward was prepared for her arrival.
"Doctors resuscitated the woman with indirect cardiac massage and connected her to a ventilator. After the necessary examinations and confirmation of the diagnosis, they performed thrombolysis - dissolved the clot with a special drug," said the head of the regional Ministry of Health.
At the moment, the woman's hemodynamics, rhythm and saturation indicators have stabilized. There are no signs of neurological deficit either, which is very rare after cardiac arrest.
The woman is currently still receiving treatment in the emergency cardiology department. However, the patient, who is a mother of many children, will soon be discharged.
