Government. Debate on the programme begins in parliament

The program of the XXV Constitutional Government will be presented and discussed today in the Assembly of the Republic from 10:00 am, starting with an intervention by the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, without a time limit.
The document was approved by the Council of Ministers on Thursday and delivered to the Assembly of the Republic on Saturday, including measures already included in the AD's electoral program, such as the reduction of IRS and IRC or the increase in salaries and pensions, but also new commitments.
After the Prime Minister's initial presentation, there will be an hour and a half for the first questions and answers to the ten political forces that sit in the hemicycle of the 17th legislature, starting with Chega — which has become the second largest parliamentary party -, followed by PSD, PS, IL, Livre, PCP, CDS-PP and the sole deputies of BE, PAN and JPP, the only newcomer.
Then, there will be around four and a half hours of debate on the document, with interventions from several ministers expected throughout the parliamentary afternoon.
