When to change your sheets? Expert reveals the ideal frequency

When to change your sheets? Expert reveals the ideal frequency

How often do you change your bed linens ? This habit, of course, is closely related to hygiene, but it also resonates with the principles of Feng Shui.

Neuroarchitect and Feng Shui expert Cris Paola says it's best to change your bottom sheet and pillowcase weekly. She explains that this frequency ensures the renewal of the room's energy , promoting a lighter, more balanced bedroom.

"In Feng Shui , the bed is the most energetically sensitive point in the house, as it is where we spend hours resting and regenerating. Sleeping on clean bedding promotes the flow of vital energy, called Chi," he adds.

Heavier blankets and throws should be washed every two weeks during the winter or during periods of frequent use . It's also important to wash items before storing them or at each change of season.

"Even if they don't appear dirty, these beddings accumulate dust, dust mites, and energetic memories. In Feng Shui, fabrics that wrap around the body need to be clean and energetically neutral to promote restful sleep and a harmonious atmosphere," says Cris.

Tips for keeping your sheets smelling fresh for longer

• Use drops of essential oil, such as lavender or eucalyptus, diluted in water and spray lightly when making the bed. • Store your sheets in natural sachets. Dried lavender, cloves, cinnamon, or activated charcoal are some options. • Avoid storing items while they are still damp or in stuffy places.

• Change the lining regularly, even if it still “looks clean”, to maintain energetic freshness.
