Fernanda Torres is invited to the Oscar Academy

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of the United States, the entity that organizes the Oscars, invited actress Fernanda Torres to become one of its members.

The list released this Thursday (26) has more than 530 names, which will be divided between the 19 sectors of the American Academy.

The 59-year-old artist received the invitation due to her performance in the film "I'm Still Here", shortly after being nominated for the Oscar for best actress in 2025.

People who have already been nominated for an Oscar are usually invited to become members of the Academy. However, Spanish actress Karla Sofía Gascón did not make the list due to several controversies during the campaign.

Young American Mikey Madison, who beat Torres at the Oscars, is among the actresses invited for her work in "Anora".
