Two złoty for cheesecake, free coffee. Poland's new rail carrier is shocking with its prices.

The cheapest cake on board a RegioJet train costs just 2 złoty. Passengers are also pleased with the low prices of other snacks – customers of the Czech carrier pay 8 złoty for chicken tortillas, and 7 złoty for soup. Passengers also receive free water and coffee during the journey. This is significantly cheaper than with PKP Intercity's competitors, although it's worth noting that the dishes are not prepared on-site, but only reheated. Internet users also believe that this attractive offer may be temporary.
RegioJet tempts with low pricesCzech competitors have made their presence felt on Polish tracks, offering travelers low fares and excellent service. On September 18th , the first RegioJet train departed from Krakow to Warsaw , and passengers immediately noted the prices of the on-board meals.
A quick glance at the menu is enough to convince you that it's significantly cheaper than in Warsa at PKP Intercity – among the most surprising items, you'll find cheesecake with cocoa crumble, plum cake, and apple pie – all priced at 2 złoty. Soup costs a bit more – 7 złoty, as do ready-made meals, such as pasta and chicken – 12.5 złoty.
As Rynek Kolejowy notes, however, the meals aren't prepared on-site, as in Warsa, but only reheated. "RegioJet doesn't have its own catering service and sources its supplies from various producers, both well-known brands and local suppliers," we read. The menu also lacks traditional Czech snacks.
Internet users are afraid of price increasesIt is not known whether the low prices on the menu, as well as additional amenities such as free water and coffee, are just a way to tempt the first customers or a new standard on the railway that will become the domain of the Czech carrier.
Internet users fear price increases once the initial surge in demand subsides. However, travelers note that RegioJet prices on trains within the Czech Republic are similar.
