Turbulence and Barrier Hit: Ryanair Passengers Terrified

Passengers flying from London Stansted Airport to Kalamata Airport in Greece experienced moments of terror on Wednesday.
Ryanair plane hit barrierPassengers were left in a frenzy while they were still in the air as the Ryanair Boeing 737 experienced “severe turbulence.”
A moment later, another stressful situation occurred - the plane caught its wing on the barrier while taxiing on the runway. Passengers heard a loud sound that terrified them. The incident was immediately responded to by emergency services, which rushed to the plane. Passengers were not evacuated - they were asked to remain in their seats.
"They announced that everyone had to wait in the plane for the fire brigade. If the wing was damaged like that, why wasn't there an evacuation?" wondered one tourist, who spoke to The Sun. The photo shows the damage caused by the wing hitting the barrier.
A spokesman for the airline provided The Independent with a brief statement on the incident.
“The flight from London Stansted to Kalamata (June 18) was taxiing to a standstill when the wingtip contacted the perimeter fence at Kalamata Airport,” it confirmed. “The aircraft continued taxiing and passengers disembarked normally. The aircraft then underwent required inspections and maintenance before returning to service,” it added.
This isn’t the first time this year that such an incident has occurred. On June 12, a JetBlue flight veered off the runway while attempting to land at Boston Logan International Airport.
