When Amazon announced that it was taking over the adventures of Agent 007, the world trembled. After the disgrace of "Rings of Power," fans feared the worst. Now, however, everything indicates that they can breathe a sigh of relief. The director of the new film is none other than Denis Villeneuve - the creator of "Dune," "Sicario" and "Blade Runner 2049." In February 2025, all fans of the adventures of Agent 007 froze. It was then that Amazon MGM signed an agreement with franchise managers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli , under which the studio will decide on the artistic vision and future projects .

However, Amazon has some good news for all you action movie buffs out there. It was previously announced that Amy Pascal and David Heyman will be producing the upcoming Bond film , and now we have a director. Please note, fanfare: It will be Denis Villeneuve .

In my opinion, he's the right person. You may recognize him from hits like both "Dune" and "Blade Runner 2049" , but also excellent productions like " Sicario" and "Labyrinth" . And besides, it turns out that the guy loves James Bond .

- Some of my earliest cinema memories are connected with 007. I grew up watching Bond films with my father, starting with "Dr. No" with Sean Connery . I am a die-hard Bond fan. For me, it is sacred - comments Villeneuve quoted by Variety .

As he himself emphasizes, he intends to honor tradition and open the way for many new missions.

The director adds that he feels a huge responsibility, but is also excited about the distinction. And it seems to work both ways.

He adds that James Bond has landed in the hands of one of the greatest modern directors. It's hard to disagree. So it looks like Jeff Bezos won't ruin another pop culture legend, as he did with The Lord of the Rings .
