Ben Stiller has made a film about his parents. It will premiere in fall 2025.

The Hollywood actor, screenwriter, and director has embarked on a personal project. The creator of the cult comedy "Tropic Thunder" has announced that he will direct a documentary about his famous parents, Jerry Stiller and Anne Meary. Ben Stiller emphasized that the film "allowed him to get to know them all over again." The film will debut in late October.
Ben Stiller has once again teamed up with Apple TV+. Following the enormous success of the series "A Separation," on which he served as executive producer and director, their next collaboration will be the documentary "Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost." This project is exceptionally personal to him, as it will tell the story of his parents, Hollywood actors Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.
"I feel incredibly fortunate to once again be working with the incredible Apple TV+ team, this time on a project that is so important to me and my family. It's a great honor to be able to honor the memory of my parents, whom I got to know again through this film," the 59-year-old actor said in a statement.
Ben Stiller will not only direct but also produce the film. The title will hit the streaming service's catalog on October 24, 2025. According to the released trailer for the upcoming production, it will explore "the legendary actors' indelible influence on popular culture and shed new light on their home, where the lines between family life and artmaking often blurred."
Who were Ben Stiller's parents? Before embarking on their solo careers, Meara and Stiller Sr. performed as a stand-up comedy duo in the 1960s and 1970s. Ben's father starred in hit comedies such as "The King of Queens," "Seinfeld," and "That's the Point!" Meara, who has four Emmy nominations under her belt, rose to fame for her roles in "Orbiting Without Sugar" and "Awakenings."
Stiller's mother starred opposite her son in the acclaimed comedy "Night at the Museum," and his father co-starred in films such as "Zoolander" and its sequel. In the mid-1990s, all three appeared in the popular family comedy "Heavyweights." Meara died in May 2015 at the age of 85. Her husband passed away five years later, just shy of his 93rd birthday.
While appearing on the "Hey Dude…The 90s Called!" podcast last year, Stiller revealed that he fondly recalls his adolescence spent on film sets with his parents. It was then that he began to dream of pursuing a similar career path.
"I loved watching them work behind the scenes. I realized at a young age that I loved cinema; I was incredibly fascinated by it," the star revealed at the time.
