Polish rescue expert awarded honorary doctorate by Ukrainian university

The title of doctor honoris causa was awarded to Professor Claudius Nadolny by the Senate of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (Ukraine).
Prof. Dr. Hab. Klaudiusz Nadolny has been involved in the development of emergency medical services, emergency medicine and public health in Poland and Ukraine (since 2015) for many years.
Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University appreciated the professor, among others, for organizing and chairing the Polish-Ukrainian Emergency Medicine Conference, which takes place in Silesia and has become a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience of doctors and paramedics from both countries. The value of this conference is special for both sides in the conditions of the armed conflict in Ukraine and the new challenges that medical professionals face in connection with it.
The university also appreciates Professor Klaudiusz Nadolny for his involvement in the provision of medical equipment and ambulances for Ukrainian rescue services and for organizing training adapted to war conditions.
Honorary doctorate for professor of the Silesian AcademyProf. Klaudiusz Nadolny, PhD, is a specialist in the field of emergency medical services, emergency medicine, and public health. He currently serves as the director of SPZOZ District Emergency Medical Services in Sosnowiec and the head of the Department and Institute of Emergency Medical Services at the Silesian University in Katowice. He completed scientific internships in the field of emergency medicine and emergency medical services at the National Medical University in Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as in Richmond and Jersey City (USA), where he gained experience in managing the emergency system.
For 15 years he was an active member of medical rescue teams. He is the author of over 220 scientific publications, 3 monographs and 8 chapters for books. He is also a lecturer at many conferences in Poland, Europe and the USA.
He serves as deputy editor-in-chief of the journals "Postępy Nauk Medycznych" and "Emergency Medical Service", and is a member of the editorial board of the journal "Cardiology and Cardiovascular Research" (New York, USA).
Prof. Klaudiusz Nadolny, PhD, is the co-author of: good practices for pain management in emergency medical services and acute coronary syndrome, published by the Ministry of Health; procedures for dealing with incidents involving a large number of injured people; algorithms for collecting medical history, which have become an important element of the practice of a medical dispatcher.
The professor participates in the work of the advisory teams of the Ministry of Health and the Center for Postgraduate Medical Education in Warsaw.
