Cillian Murphy addressed the rumors, revealing whether he will play Lord Voldemort.

The name of the actor who will play Lord Voldemort in the HBO series, currently in development and currently working on "Harry Potter," remains a mystery. Casting Cillian Murphy as the iconic villain could undoubtedly be a hit. And while such rumors have surfaced, Murphy has just denied them.

" No, those rumors aren't true. My children sometimes tell me about them, but I don't know anything about them. Besides, it would be difficult to reprise a role that Ralph Fiennes once played. The man is an absolute acting legend. So I wish anyone who wants to take on such a task the best of luck," Murphy said on the "Happy Sad Confused" podcast.

Fiennes played Voldemort in four films in the series about the young wizard. The Oscar winner also joked that he was too attached to his nose to take on the role of Voldemort. The dark wizard's nose is flat and has narrow slits, resembling the nostrils of a snake.

The first season of "Harry Potter" will debut in 2027. Each series will correspond to one book in Rowling's series. Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout play the lead roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley, respectively.

On October 3rd, Cillian Murphy's latest film, "Steve," will debut on Netflix. It tells the story of the principal of a school for troubled youth. Murphy's Steve faces immense pressure to save the school from closure, while also battling his own demons and deteriorating mental health.
