Andrea Bocelli and Pharrell Williams performed a concert at the Vatican with a special intention.

Tenor Andrea Bocelli and popular American singer Pharrell Williams performed in St. Peter's Square on Saturday evening. Tens of thousands of people attended the concert, which was dedicated to peace and held under the theme "Grace for the World," and featured a multimedia show using 3,500 drones.
Other performers included John Legend, Jennifer Hudson, Karol G, the Il Volo trio, Angelique Kidjo, the Choir of the Diocese of Rome conducted by Marco Frisina, and 400 international choristers. The artists were introduced by Naomi Campbell, among others.
A striking highlight of the evening in the square in front of the Vatican Basilica was a light show using 3,500 drones, inspired by, among other things, the masterpieces in the Sistine Chapel . In the sky above St. Peter's Basilica, the drones formed images of the Virgin Mary and Pope Francis.
The special guest of the event, Graca Machel, widow of South African leader Nelson Mandela , spoke about the need to restore dignity and listed places in the world where wars continue.
"We feel love today, we feel grace," said Pharrell Williams. He spoke of the power of brotherhood and unity.
The artist encouraged everyone to raise their phone flashlights to the sky as a sign to the whole world. Thousands of people danced to his song "Happy." The concert also featured well wishes for Pope Leo XIV, who turns 70 on Sunday.
The concert concluded the third edition of the two-day World Meeting on Fraternity, organized by the Fratelli Tutti Foundation. Its name refers to Pope Francis' encyclical.
