1,700 prescriptions for psychotropic drugs. Police detained a doctor.

Police officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław detained two individuals: a doctor who had issued over 1,700 prescriptions for psychotropic medications, and another person involved in the illegal trade of these medications in Wrocław. The court ordered the doctor held in preventive custody for two months.
According to a press release, officers from the Anti-Corruption Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław arrested a doctor who had issued over 1,700 prescriptions for psychotropic medications . An individual involved in the illegal trade of these medications in Wrocław was also detained.
The investigation is being conducted by the Anti-Corruption Department of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, under the supervision of the Wrocław Psie Pole District Prosecutor's Office. It concerns "a physician certifying falsehoods in medical records for financial gain, consisting of a psychiatrist issuing false prescriptions for opioid, psychoactive, and psychotropic medications."
- The doctor was charged with certifying false information in 1,772 issued prescriptions, i.e., for the offense specified in Article 271 § 1 and 3 of the Penal Code, while the second detained person was charged with drug trafficking, i.e., an act under Article 56 § 1 and 3 of the Act on Counteracting Drug Addiction - informed Asst. Monika Kaleta from the Press Section of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
In addition, the court imposed a preventive measure against the doctor in the form of temporary arrest for a period of 2 months.
At the same time, it was emphasized that persons who have knowledge and participated in the procedure of obtaining fictitious prescriptions for themselves or other people in order to obtain opioid drugs in Wrocław, and who inform law enforcement authorities about this, the Department of Anti-Corruption of the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław or the District Prosecutor's Office Wrocław Psie Pole, before these authorities obtain knowledge in this respect, are not subject to criminal liability, in accordance with the provisions of Article 229 § 6 of the Penal Code.
