Until July 20, young artists could submit applications for the Young Talent Festival - New Energy 2025. This is one of the most important musical events in Szczecin. Each year, a jury composed of musicians and music critics selects three winners who will perform at the final concert.
According to Tomasz Kuczyński, spokesperson for the Szczecin Artistic Agency, as many as 300 artists entered this year's qualifying round. The jury will now select ten finalists who will perform during the festival (now in its 19th edition), which will be held at the Słowianin. The top three artists will also perform at the final concert, alongside the festival's headliner—who, however, has not yet been announced. The festival will take place on October 3rd and 4th.
"The qualifying rounds for the music competition have closed. Nearly 300 entries have been submitted. Warsaw received the most entries with 45, followed closely by Szczecin, Krakow, and Wrocław, among others. There's also an entry from as far away as Przemyśl. Pop, rock, and rap dominate the selection," reports Tomasz Kuczyński.
The winners of the previous editions of the festival were: Beata Andrzejewska, Limbo, Ms. No One, The Lollipops, SoundQ, Maja Olenderek Ensamble, OHO!KOKO, Stonkatank, Okryjbida, Romantic Fellas, Blunt Razor, Hyper Son, PANIE, PALMY, Serca x Antonina, Jan Majewski, Aleksander Szalonek, imasleep, ANCHEY NOCON.
In addition to financial prizes, the Grand Prix winner will receive digital distribution of the single and related promotional activities, as well as a performance of the winner's work as a support act before a concert by an artist representing Kayax.
The competition jury includes: Katarzyna Nosowska, Piotr Metz, Paweł Krawczyk and Daniel Kuśmierzak.
"The festival is a beautiful story," emphasizes Tomasz Kuczyński from the Szczecin Artistic Agency. "The most important idea of this event is to promote young performers taking their first steps in the music industry, and to present inspiring phenomena and productions on the Polish music scene. The forerunner of this unique event is the famous Szczecin Young Talent Festival, two editions of which took place in the 1960s. These editions resulted in the careers of some of the biggest stars of the Polish music scene, including Czesław Niemen, Karin Stanek, Helena Majdaniec, Niebiesko-Czarni, and many others."
The National Festival of Young Talents returned in 2007, and since 2012, it has been organized by the city's cultural institution, the Szczecin Artistic Agency. Over the course of its 18th year, nearly 4,000 performers from across the country have entered the festival competition.©℗
