Almodovar's new film coming soon to cinemas. It will hit streaming very soon

Spanish streaming giant Movistar Plus+ has announced that Pedro Almodovar's latest film, "Amarga Navidad" ("Bitter Christmas"), will premiere next year. Shortly after its Spanish theatrical release, the film will hit MP+'s streaming platform.
Unavailable in Poland, Spain's largest pay-TV provider, Movistar Plus+ , is embarking on a new mission. Its goal is to work with Spain's biggest filmmakers and, in turn, support Spanish cinema. It has just been announced that the Movistar Plus+ platform will be the exclusive place in the country where Almodovar's latest film, "Amarga Navidad," will be shown after its cinema premiere.
What will Almodovar's new film be about? The heroine of "Amarga Navidad" will be Elsa. A successful woman working in an advertising agency, her mother dies during Christmas. Trying to forget about it - as described by Variety - Elsa throws herself into work, soon realizing that she has deprived herself of time to mourn. Panic attacks force her to take some time off. During this difficult time, she can count on the support of her partner, Bonifacio. Elsa is supposed to find solace in a trip to the island of Lanzarote with her friend, Patricia.
The story of Elsa, Bonifacio and Patricia will run parallel to that of writer-director Raul Duran. The production will intertwine fiction and reality, and Almodovar intends to explore how inextricably, and often painfully, they are linked. The main roles in "Amarga Navidad" are played by Barbara Lennie, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Aitana Sanchez-Gijon, Victoria Luengo, Patrick Criado, Milena Smit and Quim Gutierrez.
The cooperation of Movistar Plus+ with Spanish filmmakers is already bringing tangible results. His previous film, "In the Room Next Door", made together with Almodovar, was awarded the Golden Lion in Venice and also received three Goya awards. Last month, "Sirat" by Oliver Laxe was awarded in Cannes.
