Warm, quiet, and little-known: three beaches in Northeast Brazil to enjoy in winter.

Northeast Brazil has several attractive destinations that are ideal for this time of year, offering tempting options: beautiful beaches, natural pools, and plenty of local culture.
Here are three places to consider.
A town with 64 kilometers of beaches —many of them deserted—on the border between the states of Ceará and Piauí. Its landscape blends dunes, freshwater rivers, the sea, and the feel of an old fishing village.
It is just under 100 kilometers from Jericoacoara (which can be reached by plane), a more popular destination, but Camocim stands out because it offers more affordable prices.

Mass tourism hasn't yet reached this place , and one of the reasons is that getting there isn't so easy. Camocim is one of the 14 municipalities that make up the Route of Emotions, a 500-kilometer circuit that runs through the states of Ceará, Piauí, and Maranhão.
It's not a resort destination—there are glamping sites and inns—nor are there lounge chairs or umbrellas on the seashore, but the water is warm and inviting for this time of year.
It's also an international hotspot for water sports such as kitesurfing , especially on the beaches of Maceió (not to be confused with the Maceió de Alagoas destination), Baía das Caraúbas, and Farol do Trapiá. Beginner courses are available for US$65 per hour.
A popular excursion is to visit Barra dos Remédios beach , which combines buggy, raft and unspoiled spots on the coast.

To book: On Curimãs beach , just over an hour away by car, is Brilho do Mar, the best restaurant in the area , led by French chef François Bourhis. Its menu focuses on local fish and produce. Two people dine for US$40.
This destination isn't exactly unfamiliar , but among the options in the Northeast, it has the advantage of its beaches being right next to the city, protected by a barrier reef. So you don't have to travel far to enjoy its natural pools and calm waters.

Maragogi is on the Costa dos Corais - they call it "the Brazilian Caribbean" - and has an interesting accommodation offer that includes both resorts and inns and a variety of gastronomic alternatives.
Don't miss Antunes Beach , in the north, which stands out for its warm turquoise waters and a boat ride to Camino de Moisés (three kilometers from Maragogi), with a natural pool with a sandy path that allows you to enter the sea without diving. Very Instagrammable.

Keep in mind when planning your excursions: to fully enjoy the natural pools, visit during low tide. Also, with the waxing and waning of the moon, the natural pools (gales) fill with water and become more cloudy.
To get to Maragogi there are two options at similar distances (130 km): Recife or Maceió airports.
It is 100 km from Natal, which is why many people come here on a day trip.

Whether you're staying for a few days or just for a quick visit, this place has sunshine, semi-deserted beaches , dunes, and rock formations that create an attractive landscape.
The place is very simple, with no large hotels, and the region is among the best sustainable destinations in the world according to the Green Destinations ranking.

A trip to Tourinhos Beach is a must, where kitesurfing, windsurfing, and buggy rides are part of the landscape.
The natural pools of Parrachos de Perobas (45 minutes from the center of São Miguel do Gostoso) are spectacular and can be reached by boat.
