Technology at the service of people: how Bogotá promotes family health and well-being

The District Health Secretariat presented the progress of the MAS Bienestar Health Care Model , in terms of digital health, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to respond to the needs of the city's population.

This initiative, supported by Primary Social Care, recognizes that social determinants directly impact the well-being of individuals, families, and communities.
“MAS Bienestar demonstrates that health cannot be understood in isolation from the social sphere. Bogotá is making progress in building a model that combines community outreach with digital innovation to ensure comprehensive well-being. This model has an approach that goes beyond hospitals and clinics,” said Luis Alexander Moscoso Osorio, Undersecretary of Health Services and Insurance.

Therefore, it articulates sectoral and intersectoral information with more than 24 million records and 40 integrated data sources, allowing for territorial prioritization and strengthening health risk management.
What technological strategies have you used?According to information provided by the Bogotá Health Secretariat for this focus, the capital uses technological tools such as the Comprehensive Referral and Counter-Referral System (SIRC), aimed at ensuring the continuity of care for users, and the GTAPS web application, which serves as a platform for recording care in the field, facilitating the monitoring and prioritization of the population served. "With more than 24 million records analyzed and artificial intelligence tools, Bogotá is transforming the way it manages health risks and anticipates the needs of its population," highlighted José Ignacio Argote, Undersecretary of Planning.

Regarding the progress of the MAS Bienestar Model, more than 2,900 families have received educational and therapeutic interventions that have helped prevent the recurrence of suicidal behavior, generating a transformative impact on the community's mental health.This center provides ongoing monitoring of 6,823 patients with diabetes and 16,493 with hypertension , effectively helping to prevent serious complications and hospitalizations and improving the quality of life of thousands of people in Bogotá.
This effort reflects the city's commitment to the interoperability of medical records, the modernization of the SaluData Health Observatory, and the strengthening of regionalized and specialized emergency management, in coordination with the public and private networks.
