Hulk Hogan, American wrestling legend, dies at 71.

American wrestler Hulk Hogan , a legend of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and known in recent years for being a supporter of President Donald Trump , died at the age of 71 of cardiac arrest in Florida, his manager confirmed to NBC on Thursday and TMZ reported.

Doctors and police arrived at his home in Clearwater , a city in the Tampa Bay area of west-central Florida, in the morning, where they transported the fighter by ambulance, TMZ reported, after months of rumors about Hogan's health.

Federal Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, of the Republican Party , confirmed the death of the fighter, born on August 11, 1953 in Augusta, in the state of Georgia.

" Rest in peace to the great Hulk Hogan, who lived right here in FL-13. It was a great honor to be your representative. You are gone, but the legend of 'Hulkmania' will forever run wild and free ," the lawmaker wrote on X.

Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Gene Bollea , was married to yoga instructor Sky Daily and was popular in the 1980s and 1990s as part of the World Wrestling Federation WWE.

She was also famous for the 2013 legal battle that brought down the gossip site Gawker over the publication of a sex tape of her.

In one of his last public appearances, the mustachioed wrestler was one of the surprise speakers on the final day of the Republican National Convention in July 2024, when he spoke before Trump's first public address since the attack in Butler, Pennsylvania.

He did it from the stage and in front of a cheering crowd, who watched as the fighter took off his jacket and tore off a T-shirt to reveal a tank top bearing the last name of the president and that of his running mate, now Vice President JD Vance .

" He's going to win in November, and when he does, we're all going to be champions again. He's been the greatest patriot, and he continues to be. He's always said exactly what he thinks, and regardless of the odds, he always finds a way to win ," she said of Trump, whom she said she's known for 35 years.
