Artificial Intelligence: Polish Companies Unite Under One Banner

Artificial Intelligence: Polish Companies Unite Under One Banner

AI Poland is an initiative formally founded by 40 organizations operating in the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications – the oldest and largest ICT chamber in Poland, which currently brings together over 216 entities.

- Organizations from Poland are already creating their own large language models (LLM) and other artificial intelligence solutions - not only to effectively compete globally and build intellectual property in Poland, but also to support European digital sovereignty - says Piotr Mieczkowski, CEO of AI Poland.

AI Poland was created as a response to this need . I believe that thanks to the cooperation of companies, including AI startups and scaleups, state research institutes, scientific communities, Polish and foreign corporations, VC/PE funds and other public institutions, we are able to build a strongly integrated AI ecosystem in Poland, implement joint international projects and consortiums, and accelerate the use of AI among business and administration - adds Mieczkowski.

A long list of goals for the new initiative

One of the goals of AI Poland is to internationalize the Polish AI market and include it in the European AI Forum network – the largest organization in Europe associating over 2,200 AI startups from 12 countries with headquarters in Brussels.

However, the main goals of AI Poland included the following:

  • building an AI ecosystem in Poland : creating a platform for networking, supporting cooperation between business, science and administration, and initiating partnership and research and development projects.
  • raising awareness and educating society on AI : promoting knowledge about artificial intelligence by organising events (conferences, seminars, workshops), creating reports, analyses and guides, and educating companies, especially SMEs, on the benefits and challenges of AI .
  • effective representation of the interests of the Polish AI ecosystem : ensuring a strong national voice of the AI sector in Poland, Brussels and in leading international bodies by representing members towards public administration, regulators, EU institutions and international organisations, as well as active participation in legislative processes.
  • promoting standards and ethics in AI : developing and implementing technical and operational standards and codes of ethics that ensure safety, interoperability and legal compliance in the development and use of AI.
  • development and improvement of competencies : identifying competency needs, cooperating with universities to adapt curricula and promoting career development in the AI sector to support staff development and innovation.
  • development of the AI market and promotion of Polish innovations on the international stage: monitoring market trends, identifying niches and AI development opportunities, promoting Polish AI solutions on the national and international stage and supporting the digital transformation of enterprises.

The founding members of AI Poland are 40 companies, including Cyfrowy Polsat, Netia, Orange Polska and T-Mobile Polska.
