What is the House-to-House Health program?

On the morning of Thursday, June 12, PresidentClaudia Sheinbaum Pardo launched the "House-to-House Health" program during "The People's Morning Press Conference."

The recent project is part of the Mexican Government 's Well-being Programs under the current administration and aims to "improve access to health services for older adults and people with disabilities," according to the official website.

House-to-House Health: What does the health prevention program consist of?

As part of the program's schedule, healthcare professionals will conduct periodic visits to beneficiaries' homes to provide appropriate care and follow-up care for people 65 and older and people with disabilities.

Care will be provided to individuals regardless of the social security system to which they are enrolled.

Nurses and doctors will be responsible for keeping track of patients' medical records and providing a health card to maintain records of treatments and visits.

In this way, health personnel will provide preventive care to citizens: vital sign checks, medical treatment, prescription of prescription medications, and even medical examinations.

Through social media, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) announced that the program is now operational in all 32 states across Mexico.

How to receive a kit?

To receive the benefits of the program, the following criteria and requirements must be met:

Be a beneficiary of the Pension for the Welfare of Older Adults or the Pension for the Welfare of Persons with Disabilities
Have the original and a copy of a sighted official ID
Submit a copy of the CURP

To enroll in the program , a health and wellness census will be conducted, including a questionnaire and a history, accompanied by a physical examination that will be recorded in a database.

During the morning press conference, the contents of the preventive kit used by medical personnel were presented: a digital tablet, a blood pressure monitor, a stethoscope, a digital thermometer, an oximeter, a tape measure, and lancets for measuring glucose levels.
