Bodega Aurrera opens its first specialty medical office

The Bodega Aurrera chain of stores, belonging to Walmart Mexico, has taken a significant step towards the health sector. by putting its first Medical Services Center into operation. This initiative seeks to provide general and specialized medical care, as well as laboratory services, at affordable prices for the Mexican population.
The inaugural opening took place this week at a branch located in the Ojo de Agua neighborhood of Aguascalientes. This marks the start of what could become a national expansion project, using the chain's existing infrastructure to install future consulting rooms within its establishments.

Currently, Bodega Aurrera has more than 2,500 branches across the country, representing a strategic base for expanding this healthcare model. However, an official statement has not yet been issued regarding the exact number of clinics that will be opened in the future.

It is worth noting that since April, the chain began offering free medical consultations, available on Fridays and Saturdays between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., as part of a social media positioning strategy and attracting users to its services.

This move represents a direct alternative to options like Farmacias Similares, known for their affordable services and their iconic character, Dr. Simi. With this action, Walmart seeks to increase access to basic and specialized medical care in communities where access is often limited.
