The Manresa Mediterranean Fair focuses on creativity with 78 performances

As every year, the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa will fill the streets of the capital of Bages with music, theater, dance, and popular culture, with an offering that, in its 28th edition, will see the fruits of its incentive for new creations. From October 9th to 12th, the Catalan city will be filled with unprecedented artistic presentations born within the L'Obrador d'Arrel program, which promotes artists. This edition aims to highlight the work that this project has carried out in the Manresa market for the past five years.
Within the program, 35% of the proposals have been consolidated thanks to the initiative led by the Generalitat de Catalunya and Fira Mediterrània. Of the 78 productions that will be presented at the fair—three more than last year—27 have been included in one of its programs. Furthermore, the 28th edition is structured into four itineraries: new musical releases from the Catalan roots scene, offerings from the Mediterranean world music scene, dance, and theater and circus offerings.
Read alsoAs every year, the fair seeks to look beyond its borders, and this time the international spotlight will be on the Balkans. Four new artists will be coming from that territory: from Serbia, the band of the famous trumpeter Ekrem Mamutovic and the duo composed of journalist and musician Vladimir Lenhart and singer Zoja Borovanin. From Bosnia and Herzegovina, we will have the new sevdah album by Božo Vrećo—a traditional genre of popular music originating in Bosnia—while the young Franco-Greek Melina Vlachos will offer her new offering, which blends pop with Balkan and Eastern influences.
In 2025, three cross-curricular programs will also be incorporated, focusing on audiences and contexts. Six programs designed for schoolchildren and families will be promoted, as well as six others geared toward citizen participation through song and dance. A third program, called "Fem cultura," will also be created with nine popular culture programs.
The event will be opened by Menorcan singer Anna Ferrer, who will present her show PA , which depicts the ritual of the passing on of her family lineage of bakers. Tickets for the Fira Mediterrània in Manresa are now available and will be discounted until October 8.
