Through their Archewell Foundation, Meghan and Harry launched The Parents’ Network, a community for parents whose children have been negatively impacted by social media. The group has now partnered with ParentsTogether, a nonprofit organization that publishes articles on family and child issues.

“Our children, Archie and Lilibet, are just 6 and 4 years old,” Meghan said in her speech, per People. “Can you believe it?”

She went on to address the many challenges parents face in the modern age. “Luckily, they’re still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming,” she added. “Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits while safeguarding against its dangers. And that hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible.”

She continued, “We know that when parents come together, when communities unite, waves are made. We’ve seen it happen. We’re watching it grow. And with your support, we’ll continue building a safer digital world for all our children.”

For his part, Prince Harry added, “Two years ago, we first spoke publicly about the work we had been doing with parents around social media’s devastating impact on children. There was no better place to share this news than Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Festival because the mission of this organization that we are all here celebrating tonight is to expand access to mental health support, and that’s exactly what we aimed to do by building this community called The Parents’ Network.”
