Godoy Cruz crowned Olivia Chretien as its new Harvest Queen

More than four thousand people elected the representative of the Centro district as queen of Godoy Cruz. Emilia Fernández, from Las Tortugas, is the Vice Queen.
With the vote of more than four thousand people, Olivia Chretien was chosen as the new Queen of the Grape Harvest of Godoy Cruz . The representative of the Centro district will be accompanied by Emilia Fernández , from Las Tortugas, as departmental Vice Queen.
The coronation ceremony took place this Tuesday at the Espacio Arizu, after the postponement of the “Soñé y Vino” Grape Harvest last weekend due to weather conditions. At the event, the memory of Delia Larrive Escudero was renewed, the young winemaker who in 1936 became the first Grape Harvest Queen.
Mayor Diego Costarelli highlighted the leading role that Godoy Cruz has taken in this grape harvest season: “We are proud to host the Paseo Federal and the traditional Blessing of the Fruits. We are an emblematic department in the wine history of Mendoza, and as such we are preparing to welcome thousands of Mendoza residents and tourists .”

"This celebration has shown the true cultural values that Godoy Cruz has and that are part of the idiosyncrasy of the residents themselves. Honesty, the culture of work, effort and progress are the values that really generate a true communion for all the people of Godoy Cruz," said the head of the community.
All citizens over 18 years of age in Godoy Cruz were able to choose, online , who they wanted to win the crown of the municipality. Thus, more than four thousand people participated in the electoral process.

The new queen of Godoy Cruz, Olivia Chretien, is 21 years old, is a student of the Bachelor of Psychology and her project was “Backpacks for the Future” . The initiative seeks to provide school supplies and hygiene kits to children and adolescents, supporting their educational development and well-being.
Emilia Fernández represented Las Tortugas and, at 18 years old, was elected Vice Queen. She is a student of the Tourism and Hospitality Degree and her project was called “Neighborhood Ties: Building Futures” . The proposal is to improve the quality of life through actions that promote security, care for the environment and citizen participation, through the new Neighborhood Union First Neighborhood ATSA.
