Concert craze in Madrid: the Metropolitan Stadium will be packed this summer, taking advantage of the Bernabéu crisis.

Concert craze in Madrid: the Metropolitan Stadium will be packed this summer, taking advantage of the Bernabéu crisis.

In the summer of 2025, there won't be a single day off at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano in Madrid . Atlético de Madrid 's stadium will be packed with concerts between May 25, the day the La Liga season ends, and the end of July, when the turf needs to be replanted. For those two months, 14 concerts have already been announced, in a packed summer schedule with not a single free slot.

It's been nine weeks and the Riyadh Air Metropolitano is 100% occupied. The success of the venue is so great that Atleti is already in advanced negotiations for several concerts for the summer of 2026 , always starting on the 15th, when Bad Bunny 's historic residency in Madrid will end. The Puerto Rican has sold half a million tickets for his tremendous series of concerts at the Metropolitano: May 30 and 31, and June 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11, 14 and 15, 2026.

Rumor has it that Oasis 's hypothetical European stadium tour will take place in the summer of 2026. The Gallagher brothers have so far announced concerts in the UK, US, Latin America, and Asia between July and November 2025, but have clarified that this is only part of their world tour, which is scheduled to continue into 2026.

So far, the concerts announced for the Madrid countryside this summer are:

Ed Sheeran: May 30 (sold out) and 31.

Natos and Waor: June 7.

Lola Indigo: June 14th.

Dellafuente: June 20 (sold out) and 21.

Imagine Dragons: June 28.

Iron Maiden: July 5th.

AC/DC: July 12 (sold out) and 16.

Stray Kids: July 22 and 23.

Aitana: July 30 and 31.

Last summer there were eight concerts at the Madrid stadium: Bruce Springsteen's three nights, plus Estopa, Metallica, The Weekend, Morat, and Feid.

The explosion of live music in Madrid , with a continued increase in ticket sales for the past decade, and the crisis at the Bernabéu as a concert venue have benefited the Riyadh Air Metropolitano, which has become the most sought-after venue in Spain for promoters of major national and international tours.

The place to be in Spain during the summer of 2024 was the Bernabéu, with historic sellouts such as both nights of Taylor Swift and, above all, four nights of Karol G. However, the unexpected cancellation by Real Madrid of the concerts of Aitana, Dellafuente, Lola Índigo and the K-pop festival Music Bank and the 800,000 euros in municipal fines for excessive noise suffered by the promoters who rented the stadium on Paseo de la Castellana this year have left the site free for the Metropolitano. Quoting the not-so-subtle words of Florentino Pérez , president of Real Madrid, this is how the situation will remain in the future until "the City Council and the Community of Madrid decide if they want the Bernabéu to continue being one of the main global venues for major international tours."

It's important to keep in mind that a stadium concert occupies the space for almost a week, between stage setup and dismantling. Therefore, although there is a potential concert schedule of more than two months, the actual available dates can only increase if several consecutive performances are linked, as will happen next summer at the Metropolitano with the tours of Ed Sheeran, Dellafuente, AC/DC, Stray Kids, and Aitana.

Aside from live music, the Madrid stadium has ramped up its activities with symposiums, conferences, and all kinds of events, the most notable of which is Madrid On Ice, a giant 4,700 m² ice rink that will be built around the pitch during the Christmas period, with capacity for 1,500 skaters at a time.
