An anteater was found in the desert area of Santa Rosa.

The anteater was spotted by a rancher and rescued by park rangers, as it was at risk of being attacked.
An anteater , known in the north of the country as a honey bear and whose scientific name is Tamandua Tetradactyla , was discovered on Wednesday afternoon in the southern area of Las Catitas , in the Estancia Pichi Ciego , near the historic train station of the same name.
The animal was spotted by a ranch owner at the ranch owned by David Lanzarini, located at kilometer 35 of Provincial Route 153 South, which connects Las Catitas with General Alvear.
The specimen was found by rancher Néstor Fabián Garay , who detected it near his house due to the commotion his dogs caused when they found it in the bushes.
Park rangers based in the protected area of the Ñacuñán Biosphere Reserve worked on the scene to capture the animal.
The goal was to prevent it from being attacked by dogs. The animal was then handed over to the Mendoza Province Wildlife Department for examination and then returned to its habitat, where it would be safe from predators.
