The weekend exhibitions, from Marino Marini to Wang Yancheng

(by Marzia Apice) Marino Marini and Otto Hofmann, next to William Kentridge and Wang Yancheng: these are some of the artists featured in this week's exhibitions. AREZZO - At the Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art and at the Medici Fortress from June 28th to October 31st "Marino Marini. In dialogue with man", the anthology of paintings and sculptures curated by by Alberto Fiz and Moira Chiavarini, with the coordination scientific by Alessandro Sarteanesi. The exhibition, designed from the cultural association Le Nuove Stanze and Magonza, proposes two paths that integrate with each other - the first at the Galleria Municipal Modern and Contemporary Art with a series of paintings together with plaster casts and bronzes, the second at the Medici Fortress with large sculptures and monumental works - to investigate the research conducted by the sculptor from the 1910s to the Sixty. LECCE - It is entitled "Otto Hofmann - the imaginary and the real. From the Bauhaus a Free Artist. Works 1930-1954", the exhibition set up until September 14th at the Biscozzi Rimbaud Foundation. Set up until September 26, the exhibition - curated by Stefania Rössl, Elena Mucelli and Paolo Zanfini - presents 39 works by the photographer which weave a stimulating dialogue with the views of the cities and of the architectures preserved inside the books of the Malatesta. SPOLETO - From June 28th to November 2nd Palazzo Collicola hosts 5 new exhibitions: among these the solo exhibition of Stefano Cerio entitled "Corpi d'aria", edited by Stefano Chiodi with a selection of photographs from two recent series of the artist, Aquila (2019-2021) and Brenva (2023), as well as a video. "Fleeting Thoughts" is instead the personal exhibition of William Kentridge edited by Saverio Verini: in the path a wide selection of works created over the last 25 years from the South African artist, including drawings, sculptures, videos, prints, and notebooks to compose a rich and multifaceted repertoire. The 3 other projects are an exhibition with a selection of works coming from the collection of Primo De Donno; an exhibition of the posters of the Festival of Two Worlds; and an exhibition for celebrate the ten years of activity of the Mahler & LeWitt Studios, active in Spoleto since 2015. NUORO - Born to investigate the complex relationship between an island and its simulacra the exhibition "Islands and idols", at the Man from 27 June to November 16, curated by Chiara Gatti and Stefano Giuliani. MORESCO - In the spaces of the Tomav Torre di Moresco Arts Center Matteo's solo exhibition on view from June 28th to September 7th Costanzo entitled "American Drumpf" edited by Barbara Caterbetti. Through sticker painting, video loops and installations, the artist proposes a sort of pirate raid among the American icons and symbols hit by such a crisis profound enough to call into question our life models, of progress and democracy.
