The stage costumes of the divas on display at Cinecittà

Angelina Jolie's stage costumes for the film about Maria Callas, the outfits of Luisa Ranieri and Jasmine Trinca in Diamonds and various outfits worn by Tecla Insolia, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Alma Noce for The art of joy, will be on display at Cinecittà from June 27th. Full of Queens in Cinecittà will be open to visitors with a series of guided tours every Saturday morning starting July 5th. Powerful non-verbal means of communication, clothing is not limited to reveal people's social status and profession but helps to create a precise image. For this reason the costumes stage sets are a fundamental piece in the construction of a role. It is no coincidence that Angelina Jolie admitted that she put made for her in Maria, a biopic directed by Pablo Larrain, in which became the divine Callas, were fundamental for help her step into the "most challenging role she has ever had faced". Massimo Cantini Parrini signed the clothes of the film, winner of 6 David di Donatello awards and nominated 2 times at the Oscar. For Jolie alone he drew 200 sketches and made 60 dresses. Three of the film's garments were made by Sartoria Tirelli Trappetti: an evening dress with ivory bodice embroidered with rhinestones and pearls and wide black skirt, and two tops worn by Callas for Zeffirelli's Tosca (1964) and Anna Bolena by Visconti ('57). From Diamonds (produced by GreenBoo Production, Faros Film, Vision Distribution, distributed by Vision Distribution) the most seen in 2024 and Ferzan's biggest box office success Ozpetek the outfits (Sartoria Tirelli Trappetti) of the protagonists Luisa Ranieri and Jasmine Trinca alias Alberta and Gabriella Canova, owners of the tailoring shop. After the world premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, L'arte of joy, a miniseries with which the director Valeria Golino brings on the small screen the novel of the same name by Goliarda Sapienza, which has won several awards including 3 David di Donatello, here are the 5 dresses made by costume designer Maria Rita Barbera. Among the outfits worn by Tecla Insolia whose role as the protagonist, Modesta Spataro won the David for Best Actress at 21 years.
