The sea of Naples: undiscovered itineraries

Until October 5th, 38 free offers - book now! on the Eventbrite platform - are available to citizens and visitors looking for new ideas for excursions via sea, urban walks and literary tours between Naples and its coast. On the other hand, the sea is not only the natural border of the city but it is its history, its memory. The rich program of This authentic and engaging experience starts from the 'Tales of Naples from the sea', tours guided by the writer and comedian Neapolitan Amedeo Colella, discovering the history, the language and local culture, involving iconic figures such as the storyteller parking attendant, the crazy one, Pulcinella and 'o 'ncenzaro, making every journey captivating and fun. Equally fun experience aboard a 33-metre galleon meters for 'Naples among the Waves', which for three hours offers a spectacular viewpoint over the city: from Castel dell'Ovo to at Gaiola beach, you can admire the Caracciolo seafront, Mergellina, the Palazzo Donn'Anna and the noble villas of Posillipo - Villa Rosebery, Volpicelli, Lauro - up to the bay of the Green Rocks, Marechiaro and the island of Nisida. Here they will come told anecdotes, legends and curiosities, revealing how the sea has shaped local architecture, culture and imagination. Available dates are: August 7, 14, 21 and 28; 4, 11, 18 and 25 September. The meeting point is at 3.45 pm at the Rotonda di Nazario Sauro Street. Also on display is 'The Naples Waterfront' which narrates the historical and symbolic stratification of the Neapolitan coast. In in this case the route starts from Castel dell'Ovo and passes through the Borgo Marinari, overlooking the islet of Megaride, where they intertwine memories of fishing, spirituality and ancient activities marinate. The journey continues along Via Partenope and the Riviera of Chiaia, between elegant buildings and views of the Gulf, up to reach the monument to the Scugnizzo, a symbol of resistance and courage linked to the Four Days of Naples. Among the walking tours, the exhibition presents 'A magnificent 'seaside walk', a path that winds along the pier of San Vincenzo, an area usually closed to the public. The tour starts from Darsena Acton, continues towards the Porto and Pendino districts and ends at the lighthouse of San Vincenzo, one of the oldest of Italy still in activity, with Vesuvius as a backdrop scenic. During the walks it is possible to admire the Fountain of Sebeto, dating back to the seventeenth century and a tribute to the disappeared river which once bathed Neapolis, and the church of Santa Maria del Parto, founded in 1504 by the poet Jacopo Sannazaro, a jewel hidden that unites art, literature and spirituality. The Ferragosto concert will be held again this year. at dawn on the panoramic terrace of Sant'Antonio in Posillipo, where the gaze is lost between the sea and Vesuvius. Finally the 'Tour of the Yellow City of Naples' returns, curated by writer Ciro Sabatino. They are investigative itineraries and literary - every Saturday and Sunday from September 6th to October 5th - from Via Chiaia to Palazzo Fuga, from the Spanish Quarters to Posillipo. The tours focus on the late nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, with Mary Shelley and Victor as protagonists Frankenstein, Alexandre Dumas and his mysterious Saint-Roche, Petrosino and the secret of Ettore Majorana. Each tour reveals mysteries linked to inaccessible places, in a format that combines storytelling and investigation, culture and entertainment.
