Tales of Light, the Borghese Gallery Reveals Its History

From the purchase of land outside the walls by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the 17th century, to the construction of the villa as an ideal space to welcome an unparalleled collection, up to the multiple events historical, architectural projects, transformations of the gardens and the installations that have followed one another over the centuries. From July 11th to October 11th the Borghese Gallery in Rome will reveal its history throughout the centuries offering visitors the possibility of an immersive and fascinating journey thanks to "Tales of light", the new video mapping that will illuminate the facade on the back of the museum. Appointment on Friday and Saturday, from 9.15pm, with several reruns in the evening, with a dedicated ticket and a layout designed for enjoyment, with seats set up in the garden of Villa Borghese. Weaving together history, art and technology to celebrate identity and the evolution of the Gallery, the artistic projection will be a powerful and evocative visual story, with images accompanied by an original soundtrack and narration evocative (available in Italian, English, French, Spanish and in LIS), through visions, restorations, masterpieces and transformation of places, from the past to today. The Borghese Gallery has also completed the intervention of updating your internal communication: introduced in fact some new features - new captions, a signage renewed and the QR code next to the works - which have been designed according to accessibility principles. This is accompanies another important intervention: the conclusion of the construction site for the extraordinary maintenance of the sculptures of the Portico, with a thorough conservative check, the removal of incoherent deposits, the treatment of discontinuities superficial and the re-evaluation of the exhibition media no longer adequate.
