Among the 25 must-see destinations in the world for 2025, according to National Geographic, is the Stockholm archipelago with its thirty thousand islands. This year, it will be even easier to explore thanks to a recently launched hiking trail, connecting 20 islands with marked trails and accommodation options. Reaching the destination is simple: just a 20-minute boat ride from central Stockholm reveals a completely different world, a coastal landscape where nature and cultural heritage coexist harmoniously. This magnificent archipelago stretches for 80 kilometers, from the lush islands of the innermost part, with forests and open landscapes, to the barren cliffs of the outermost part overlooking the open sea. What makes the Stockholm archipelago so special is the combination of easy accessibility and magnificent nature. In less than an hour from the city center, you can find yourself on a traffic-free island, surrounded by silence and the sea. For this reason, in July the main islands are full of tourists and Swedes who have second homes on the islands, but already from mid-August, considered low season, you can experience the environment and nature much more calmly, combining a stay on the islands with a visit to Stockholm.
