Five days on foot along 70 km from Cupramontana to Camerino in the most authentic places of Marche: this is the summer proposal, from 22nd to 27th August, of the Cammino dei Cappuccini aimed at under 35s for a unique experience between nature, spirituality and beauty of the territory. The entire journey - 400 km divided into 17 stages - passes through villages rich in history like Cagli, San Severino Marche, Camerino and Offida, custodians of theaters, frescoed churches, crafts and traditions food and wine. Along paths and secondary roads, the The route promotes slow mobility and support for local micro-economies, enhancing the landscape without consuming soil. Among the symbolic places, the convent of Renacavata di Camerino, cradle of the Capuchin Friars Minor, and the sanctuary of the Madonna dell'Ambro in the Sibillini Mountains, known as the 'Lourdes dei Sibillini', until arriving in Ascoli Piceno, with its travertine squares and timeless atmosphere. The August proposal of the Camino starts from Cupramontana, village immersed in the Verdicchio vineyards, between the Romanesque abbey of Sant'Urbano, immersed in the woods, and the hermitage of the White Friars, where in the 16th century the first promoters of the Capuchin reform, in search of a life of silence, prayer and poverty. From Cupramontana you walk towards Apiro and Cingoli, the 'balcony of the Marche', which offers one of the most suggestive views of central Italy. From here the path touches the hermitage of Sant'Angelo, which was the site of one of the first experiences of reformed life, even before birth official of the Capuchins. It is the longest stage of the journey, and perhaps the most intense, which leads to the intermediate stop of San Lorenzo di Treia. The following day we continue to San Severino Marche, a city of art and spirituality, where it is located the ancient Capuchin convent of San Salvatore in Colpersito. On the last day we reach Camerino, home to the university and historic cradle of the order of the Capuchin Friars. Here is the Renacavata convent, founded in 1528, the first convent cappuccino in the world; it is a place surrounded by greenery, a symbol of the origins and Franciscan simplicity, where it will end the experience with a day of reflection and celebration. The journey is led by the friars Sergio and Nicola in collaboration with artist Tom Search, who will lead creative workshops along the path. The entire experience takes place under the banner of essentiality: you sleep in sleeping bags in small sports halls, convents and gyms and we walk in groups, with a spirit of adaptation and opening; the cost of the walk is 150 euros, all inclusive. In the Jubilee year this experience is aimed at for the younger ones it is also an alternative way to discover the territory and to know each other: "Our desire - says between Sergio Lorenzini - is that the Camino is not just a path to follow to travel, but an invitation to slow down and listen to the deeper beat of life that brings us back to harmony with ourselves, with creation, with the communities that inhabit these lands and with God. We wanted to trace a path that tells the beauty and simplicity of Franciscanism, which opens doors and hearts".
