Report, industrial beers: do we really know what we drink? The investigation that shakes the sector. Previews Sunday 8 June
Report, Siegfried Ranucci

Report, Siegfried Ranucci

All set for a new episode of Report, the investigative program hosted by Sigfrido Ranucci and broadcast every Sunday in prime time on Rai3. What topics will be discussed today? Let's start with industrial beers and then talk about healthcare, the Pnrr and elections in Poland.

The Beer Inquiry

With foam and without bubbles: this is the advice for drinking a beer without contraindications. Because beer is a food and as such it must be treated and protected in all its phases up to the glass. A drink that Bernardo Iovene deals with with the collaboration of Lidia Galeazzo "Beer. And you don't know what you're drinking". In addition to water, barley malt, hops and yeast there is CO2 which is underestimated by pub managers and consumers. Carbon dioxide if consumed in excess can cause stomach problems, headaches the next day and alter the very taste of the beer. With the help of experts "Report" will indicate the right way to pour beer into the glass and the importance of foam, but will also deal with the industrial beer sector whose market is almost entirely in the hands of a few multinationals, including Messina beer and Ichnusa, both owned by Heineken. Finally, focus on craft beer, reconstructing the so-called craft revolution that began in Piedmont in 1996.

Focus on healthcare

Next, "Omissione di soccorso" by Giulio Valesini and Cataldo Ciccolella , with the collaboration of Lidia Galeazzo and Alessia Pelagaggi. Emergency rooms have dropped from 659 in 2003 to 433 in 2023, a cut of 226 services in twenty years. The surviving ones have gone from 34 thousand patient visits each to almost 42 thousand on average per year. You end up waiting hours or even days before being discharged or admitted. And so situations can arise in which patients are deprived of their dignity and crowded together in the corridors without receiving assistance. But doctors and nurses also experience stress and the risk of assault and are increasingly leaving the national health service, even to go abroad. To patch up the staff shortage, the Lazio Region has rented beds from private facilities, including those of the powerful Lega senator Antonio Angelucci. Many Local Health Authorities then recruit, through cooperatives, doctors paid by the token who cover the requested shifts. This is the phenomenon of tokenists. "Report" will tell the story of the status quo of Emergency Rooms in Italy and will verify the effectiveness of the measures taken by Minister of Health Schillaci to respond to a situation that is now collapsing.

Elections in Poland

And again, "The Fall of Warsaw" by Manuele Bonaccorsi and Chiara D'Ambros , with the collaboration of Madi Ferrucci. Last June 1st Karol Nawrocki became President of Poland with 50.89% of the votes and an electoral campaign centered on strongly anti-immigration positions also towards Ukrainians. After the beginning of the large-scale invasion by Russia, 3.6 million Ukrainians found refuge in Poland. Initially welcomed with great openness, now they are no longer welcome.

Pnrr and Sicily

Finally, for "Lab Report", "The great flop" by Danilo Procaccianti with the collaboration of Eleonora Numico . Pnrr spending in Sicily is at a standstill, all projects are late and President Schifani has called an urgent meeting to understand what is not working. In Palermo, the most obvious case is that of nursery schools where out of dozens of projects only three are actually under construction.
