La7, Urbano Cairo wants Sigfrido Ranucci and his Report team. The transfer campaign has begun.

Sigfrido Ranucci has often been highly critical of the current government, especially after RAI 's decision to cut four episodes of Report for next season. "All this means cutting the salaries of a team that reported on the country during the most difficult time of Covid," the journalist stated, "reporting injustices and crimes, putting their lives and health at risk, and fighting to make the world a better place for future generations."

In light of this situation, speculation is gaining traction that Ranucci might switch networks, and according to Dagospia, the first to move to snap up Report would be Urbano Cairo . The move is said to be part of a strategy aimed at strengthening La7 's progressive stance, already championed by Lilli Gruber, Giovanni Floris , and Diego Bianchi , but it would also involve Corriere della Sera .

Dagospia, in fact, speaks of a "realignment" for the Via Solferino daily newspaper toward the center-left. A possible change of direction hasn't been ruled out, with Luciano Fontana leaving and Fiorenza Sarzanini ready to replace him. The Corriere della Sera team could be strengthened by Valeria Pacelli for legal reporting and Giacomo Salvini , both currently at Il Fatto Quotidiano , as well as Simone Canettieri from Il Foglio for politics.

As for Report , there is talk of advanced negotiations to bring Ranucci and his team to La7 . With the change of network, however, the program will be forced to change its name since the brand is owned by Rai. Dagospia envisions a late-evening slot for Ranucci similar to " Lab Report, " featuring investigations by young journalists with a more regional perspective.
