Turin Show: Dicker, Cercas, our big names, Arena Repubblica Robinson returns

Five days of debates and events. Five days that will focus on the great themes of the present , from the election of the new Pope to the climate, from geopolitics to Artificial Intelligence , with great literature at the center. From May 15 to 19, Arena Repubblica Robinson returns to the Turin Book Fair : almost seventy events that will liven up our space in Pavilion 3 of the Lingotto (stand R52-S51).
But who are this year's big guests? Among the international authors there will be Joël Dicker (Thursday 15 at 12) - who has just brought his new gripping story dedicated to readers of all ages to the bookstore - and Javier Cercas, who with the Jesuit Antonio Spadaro will discuss the world without ethics, the death of Pope Francis and the election of Leo XIV (Saturday 17 at 10).
On stage , Gisèle Pelicot's daughter will tell us about her journey into the abyss, which has become a book: Caroline Darian will be with us on Saturday at 5:30 pm. Among the most anticipated names, here are Georgi Gospodinov (Sunday 18 at 1:30 pm), the Bulgarian writer and poet winner of the 2023 Man Booker Prize, and David Quammen , who predicted Covid with Spillover , in dialogue with Vittorio Lingiardi on Saturday 17 at 2 pm. And also the Japanese writer Rie Qudan , the Israeli Roy Chen , the Albanian author Lea Ypi . And for the first time we will meet in person the reading groups that collaborate with us every week with their democratic reviews: appointment on Friday 16 at 7:15 pm.
The Arena will also be an opportunity to meet and listen to our great names : Ezio Mauro (Thursday 15th at 3pm with Annalisa Cuzzocrea), Corrado Augias (Saturday 18th at 4:30pm), Concita De Gregorio (Friday 16th at 6pm), Massimo Giannini (Saturday 18th at 11:30am). On Friday 16th at 4pm Stefano Massini will talk about his journey around Trump. On Sunday 18th May at 11:30am Antonio Scurati will tell us about the importance of democracy, while at 3pm Massimo Recalcati will discuss the contemporary discomfort of civilization. On Saturday at 7:15pm writing will be at the center of the dialogue between Melania Mazzucco and Francesco Piccolo; immediately before, at 6:30pm, the protagonist on stage will be Gianrico Carofiglio while at 4:30pm there will be Ascanio Celestini . Sunday at 3.45pm here is Gino Castaldo.
Among the other great Italian guests , Antonio Albanese will come to visit us and will also talk about his new novel on partisan Italy (Sunday 18th at 12pm) with the deputy director of Repubblica Stefano Cappellini; the much-loved crime writer Maurizio de Giovanni (Friday 16th at 2:30pm); the director and writer Roberto Andò (Thursday 15th at 6:30pm); Roberto Saviano with his new novel (Friday at 4:30pm); the poet Mariangela Gualtieri who, on Friday at 1pm, will talk about the new anthology published by Robinson , Il canto delle donne , a journey through sixty female poets of all time, with the curator Maria Grazia Calandrone ; Cristina Comencini (Saturday 17th May at 1:30pm with Maria Novella De Luca and Simonetta Fiori), Massimo Carlotto (Friday 16th May at 1:30pm).
Highly anticipated Altan, a true monument, who will tell his story starting from his beloved Pimpa on Saturday 17th at 1pm. Space for music with the Modena City Ramblers , also in the role of writers, the director of the Biennale musica Caterina Barbieri , Roberto Angelini and Rodrigo D'Erasmo, Ariete. For comics space among others for Gipi and Zuzu , while for romance they will take the stage Felicia Kingsley, Hazel Riley, Ellie B. Luin and Erin Doom , curator of the section of the Fair dedicated to literature loved by girls.
