Ten thousand kilometers of installations in Lovere
LOVERE (Bergamo) "Lovere, the Village of Light - Reflections of Sustainability" returns, a project launched by the Municipality in 2016 to showcase the town's architectural, historical, and artistic beauty using light as an art form. Throughout the summer, light installations will decorate the facades of buildings along the lakeside and in the historic center for over 10,000 kilometers with projections and light shows.
With a focus on environmental sustainability , water plays a key role, and an international guest of honor celebrated for his work in animation. Brazilian Sandro Cleuzo , now one of the most important names in Western animation—he has also worked for Walt Disney Animation Studios, contributing to the creation of famous animated films—will flood Lovere with color, accompanied by the works of cartoonist Eleonora Contessi from the "Diamond Dogs" collective at the Accademia Tadini and in Piazza Garibaldi; and those of illustrator Gennaro Varriale, aka Gery, in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele. The event is organized with Bad , an acronym for Bergamo Animation Days , the three-day event dedicated to animation professionals that has been held for the past four years in the former monastery of Sant'Agostino in Bergamo.
"We have established a special relationship with Lovere," explains BAD's artistic director, Andrea Bozzetto. "Sandro Cleuzo is a great master, and we are thrilled to see how his art conveys messages of sustainability even on the walls of the historic center." The event quickly established itself as one of the most important and over the years has attracted tourists from beyond Italy. Lovere's mayor, Claudia Taccolini, emphasizes: "Broadening our horizons and forging relationships that extend beyond the Alto Sebino area is a priority for our administration: it's the right path to continue to enhance Lovere's appeal."
