The Multifariam Female Choir at the Basilica of Sant'Eufemia in Grado

The Basilica Concerts bid farewell to Grado and the month of August with their final performance in the Basilica of Sant'Eufemia, before returning to the Patriarchal Basilica of Aquileia in September and October. They will do so on Tuesday, August 26th, at 8:45 pm, with a concert featuring the Multifariam Women's Choir of Ruda, a group founded within the Ruda Municipal Music School in 1982. Admission is free, subject to availability. "The program ranges from Faurè to Saint-Saëns," explains Pier Paolo Gratton, artistic director of the Basilica Concerts series, "including Vierville's Fishermen's Mass, a mass written specifically for women's choir and composed by Faurè and his student André Messager. The choir, directed by Michele Gallas," Gratton concludes, "will be accompanied by Alessio Domini on piano, Dijana Arsova on violin, and Elena Soranzo on cello."
The choir has performed throughout Europe and annually organizes "La Voce delle Donne," an artistic event dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. After 37 years under the guidance of Maestro Gianna Visintin, the choir has been directed by Michele Gallas since 2019.
