Concerts in the village. And the shops are open as a backdrop.
SALÒ (Brescia) Music beneath the Garda skies, with echoes of sounds that evoke travels and distant places. Several events will fill the atmosphere of Salò with music in the coming days. The highly anticipated Grand Ferragosto Concert by the Gasparo Bertolotti Wind Orchestra of the Salò City Band Association, conducted by Maestro Angelo Bolciaghi , is always eagerly awaited. This year, the selection of pieces for tomorrow's event in Piazza Duomo is an opportunity for a themed musical journey to South America.
It starts at 8.30 pm with a performance by the Youth Band and the Baby Band, directed by maestro Gian Piero Guerra , who is entrusted with the guidance of the association's music school and the teachers of the instrument classes.
This will be followed by a concert by the Wind Orchestra, which for the occasion welcomes Mario Piacentini , pianist and composer with numerous important international jazz collaborations, to the keyboard. The Salò Orchestra will also be performing at the Vittoriale Amphitheater on August 23rd, for an evening dedicated to the soundtracks of Oscar-winning composer John Williams .
Music will also take center stage in the Garda town on two other occasions thanks to the "Salò in Musica" program, an event that transforms the lakefront into a veritable open-air stage, born from the synergy between the municipal administration, the Salò Pro Loco tourist board, and the Salò Pro Traders Association. Tomorrow and August 21st, the city will come alive with a musical journey between the lakefront and the Fossa river, thanks to seven live performances in an eclectic mix of genres: from the warm sound of black music to the charm of 1930s and 1940s American jazz, including blues, six-string music, contemporary pop, acoustic instruments, and vocals. The festival will also feature special opening hours for shops until 11 p.m.
