ManiGreen brings Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise to the Mole Adriana park.

ManiGreen brings Michelangelo Pistoletto's Third Paradise to the Mole Adriana park.

From October 12 to November 2, 2025, Rome will host ManiGreen , an open-air exhibition at the Parco della Mole Adriana, promoted by 2050 To People, an association co-founded by Erica Zmitrovitch . This initiative combines art, education, and sustainability, tied to the Jubilee of World Education of the Holy Year.

The symbolic heart of the event will be the Terzo Paradiso by Michelangelo Pistoletto , a candidate for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize. The work, created with recycled clothing in collaboration with Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto and Unirau, will transform the gardens of the Mole Adriana into a large space for reflection on art, nature, and the future.

“With Terzo Paradiso, we are transforming the gardens of the Mole Adriana into a symbol of shared responsibility: a collective work that transforms recycling into creation and beauty into responsibility. Art thus becomes an instrument of peace and rebirth for humanity,” Pistoletto explained during the press conference presenting the event, held at Palazzo Taverna, home of the University of Arkansas 's Rome Program, one of the initiative's partners and represented by Francesco Bedeschi . The artist emphasized the symbolic value of used clothing, also recalling the recent destruction of his Venus of the Rags in Naples: “Clothes speak of our responsibility. They represent the invasion of consumerism, of waste that washes up on the beaches of Africa and floats in the oceans. Returning them as a collective work means regeneration, transforming degeneration into rebirth.”

According to the artist, accompanied by Saverio Teruzzi of Cittadellarte, the Third Paradise is a formula for balance: the synthesis of nature and artifice, of the individual and the collective. A sign that becomes "the form of creation," capable of explaining how "from the confrontation of two opposite poles, a center of balance can arise, the we, the regenerating society." Public participation is an integral part of the project: on Sunday, October 12th, starting at 10:00 a.m., visitors will be invited to bring used clothing to contribute to the creation of the work alongside the artist.

Alongside Terzo Paradiso, ManiGreen will also host the creations of over a thousand children from Roman schools, including plasticized eco-drawings dedicated to the environment and cultural values, and textile installations created by local associations and retirement homes. The program includes workshops and a roundtable discussion entitled "Art, Environment, Algorithms: The World of Tomorrow."

Pistoletto emphasizes the importance of engaging the younger generations: "We can't put everything on children's shoulders: we must first train teachers capable of conveying the formula for balance. Art, like play or sport, becomes a way to teach healthy exchanges that don't lead to violence but to creativity."

ManiGreen is also part of the redevelopment project for the Parco della Mole Adriana promoted by the City of Rome, with new trees, green spaces, and renovated cultural spaces, which was discussed by Councilor Giulia Silvia Ghia of the First Municipality during the press conference. The organizers and associations, represented by Chiara Frontini of Libelà APS, summarized the event as follows: "An event that is not just an exhibition, but a collective workshop, where art meets sustainability and invites us to reflect on our role in caring for the planet and building a shared future."
