International guests and full hotels in Rimini and Riccione for the first edition
Over 200 guests and talents from the Italian and international audiovisual scene featured in previews, masterclasses, and thematic panels, generating a significant media impact (156 Italian journalists and 28 international journalists), and fully booked hotels in Rimini and Riccione. The Italian Global Series Festival, dedicated to Italian and international TV series, took place in late June in Rimini and Riccione, and was strongly supported in both Romagna locations by Undersecretary of State for Culture Lucia Borgonzoni. For a week, the festival transformed the two cities into international TV series capitals, featuring international stars such as Kevin Spacey, Can Yaman, Carlo Verdone, Valeria Golino, Luisa Ranieri, and Marco Bellocchio. During the festival, the impact on the local tourism industry was significant: in Rimini, the room occupancy rate was 86% (4.4% higher than in 2024); in Riccione, it was 89.5% (6.6%).
"A wonderful opportunity for our Riviera to gain international visibility," commented Regional Tourism Councilor Roberta Frisoni, "through the lens of both the big and small screens. Emilia-Romagna has long been the birthplace of directors, screenwriters, and actors who have shaped the history of cinema, and is still chosen as a filming location today thanks to its locations. Rimini and Riccione, working in excellent synergy, demonstrated their ability and appeal as ideal stages for a glamorous event of international renown. The participants' enthusiasm for our locations and their atmosphere was palpable. And the spirit of Fellini inspired the proceedings during this wonderful week of meetings and evenings, as Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey emphasized from the stage of the Galli Theater: "Fellini is still in the air and continues to influence this city and everything around it." Returning to the numbers, there were 156 accredited Italian journalists, 436 online articles and 66 in print, 35 television reports, and 27 radio broadcasts. Twenty-eight accredited foreign journalists and a significant international media impact, with 220 online and offline. The red carpet and the IGSF theaters featured famous faces from the Italian and international scene, including Elena Sofia Ricci, Michele Placido, the cast of Cesaroni and Mare Fuori, Bridgerton's Adjoa Andoh, and Breaking Bad's Dean Norris.
