Books: 'Fratture' by Davide Morina, a journey into the invisible folds of humanity

Davide Morina's 'Fratture' (coming soon on Amazon) is a journey into the invisible folds of humanity, where strength, hidden in the invisible wounds of the soul, reveals the fragility and resilience of those marginalized. 'Fratture' is an intense and raw collection of short stories by Davide Morina, who invites us to look beyond appearances, to immerse ourselves in the darkest and most invisible folds of humanity, where wounds run deep and stories are often ignored. In his preface, the author describes Fratture as a text that offers no easy answers or reassuring morals. Set in an invisible and degraded London , the book is imbued with his unmistakable black humor and gives voice to characters bordering on the absurd.
It's a journey without a map, a crash that reveals the deepest cracks in human existence. Morina doesn't seek heroes or perfect protagonists, but rather the characters society tends to marginalize: the derailed, the misfits, the losers, those who often go unnoticed as the world rushes forward. The book aims to give a voice to those who have none , to show the dignity of resistance, even when everything seems to be crumbling. It's a tribute to those who have lost, to those who lie to survive, to those who still dream, between one binge and another. The author invites us not to look away, to keep our eyes fixed on the dirt, because that's where the truth grows. 'Fratture' isn't a collection of uplifting stories or happy endings, but a punch in the gut, an invitation to recognize beauty in the cracks, imperfections, and open wounds.
It's a work that asks us to be truly seen, without pity or judgment, but with empathy and understanding. Each story in the book is enriched by a series of carefully chosen musical pieces, which act as a common thread, connecting the protagonists' stories and creating a unique atmosphere. These pieces aren't simple soundtracks, but true keys to understanding, capable of deepening the emotions and nuances of each character. The words and notes meet, complement, and reinforce each other. Her artistic versatility is reflected on every page, making Fractures a multisensory journey, capable of engaging not only the mind, but also the heart and the ear.
