Eight days of events to showcase the beauty of a corner of Bari through art. This is the perfect opportunity to showcase the creativity of the artists who will animate the fourth edition of the exhibition "Il mattino ha Lory in bocca," curated by Francesco Paolo Del Re, which will take place from August 24th to 31st at the intersection of Via Dalmazia and Via Spalato in the city's Madonnella neighborhood. Sixty artists will be featured in the exhibition and the performances, games, and workshops that promise to amaze with works that can be admired 24 hours a day. The goal is "to unite the community of the Madonnella neighborhood in a shared, public, relational, and participatory art experience. All of this will be offered free of charge to the city," explain the organizers.
It begins next Sunday with the inauguration of the exhibition, the screening of the video Red by Nunzia Picciallo and the reading of 'Ndrame (Annarita Gaudiomonte), and the text 'The war in which women's bodies lost their rights' by the Palestinian writer and poet Mariam El Khatib.
On Monday evening, a public neighborhood meeting will be held to mark the conclusion, after a year, of Antonio Milano's "La Cura" project. Every Monday, a candle has been lit in the artist's secular votive shrine. The "Sfida della Madonnella. Torneo a coppie di burraco popolare" (Challenge of the Madonnella. Popular Burraco Tournament) will take place on the 26th. The prize is a painting by Simona Anna Gentile, which will also be featured in a performance. The duo Alice and Ahad, composed of Alice Mestriner and Ahad Moslemi, invites the public to participate in "Il mercoledì del villaggio" (Village Wednesday) on August 27th, a workshop-event on dust, aimed at creating a collective and relational work.
Thursday features "La signora del balcone," a DJ set by MissPia (Patrizia Piarulli). Friday features Silvana Kuhtz and her video for "Ta-Ran-To." Two performances are also scheduled for Saturday: Francesco Malizia presents the "March of Heavenly Desertion, or Krakarum Karawane Zlam," and Iula A. Marzulli is the author and star of "Home Sweet Home." Sunday will feature Giorgio Cuscito with "I'm Not a Passenger," in dialogue with Pierluca Cetera's installation. It's "a disturbing, harrowing, and sonic journey into the horrors of Gaza, because," Cuscito explains, "we cannot just be passengers."
