Amacortona: the first time for an event that combines sport, wellness and culture

The first edition of Amacortona ended with great success, transforming Cortona into a stage for sports, health, wellness and celebration of local excellence. The event, held on May 10, 2025 at the Sant'Agostino Complex, offered an immersive experience that involved a diverse audience in a wide range of activities. Amacortona celebrated the connection between personal well-being and the enhancement of the Cortona area, offering a rich and diversified program. The day was animated by practical lessons in women's self-defense with Emanuele Bruno and Stefano Maniscalco , freestyle exhibitions with Dario Piantadosi and modern dance performances with Cristina Da Villanova, workshops on beauty care with Doctor Myriam Mazza and tastings of local food and wine products, actively involving schools and associations in the area. A significant moment of the event were the meetings and testimonies hosted in the Sala Assedio, moderated by Jimmy Ghione and journalist Maria Consiglia Izzo. Personalities from the world of sports and entertainment, including Eleonora Sandrelli, Amaurys Pérez, Maxime Mbanda, Gaia Zucchi and Gilles Rocca , shared their stories and experiences, enriching the audience with food for thought and inspiration. “From “Amacortona” it emerged, among other things, how sport can be a fundamental tool to educate young people, distance them from negative contexts, share healthy values ​​and promote inclusion – declared Lorena Rutigliano , artistic director of the event – ​​. The gala evening, hosted in the Auditorium Hall of the Sant'Agostino Conference Center, represented the culmination of the event. Hosted by Beppe Convertini and Matilde Brandi , the evening saw the participation of numerous special guests and the presentation of the AmaCortona Awards – First Edition to prominent figures who have distinguished themselves in various fields. Among the awardees were Gilles Rocca , noticed for his artistic career and social commitment, Gaia Zucchi, recognized for her talent as an actress and writer, Miriam Mazza, awarded for having been able to combine science, beauty and humanity, and Tina Cipollari , icon of Italian television, awarded for her authenticity and charisma. Furthermore, the “Le Stelle di Cortona” awards were given to Luisella Giulicchi, Eros Capecchi and Pierluigi Rossi, for having brought the knowledge, science, sport and culture of Cortona to the world; and a special award went to the city of Cortona, collected by the Mayor Luciano Meoni , for its thousand-year history of hospitality and humanity. Amacortona has emerged as an event capable of uniting the positive energies of the territory, promoting the values ​​of well-being and quality of life and celebrating Cortona as a city rich in history, art and tradition.
