Agrigento celebrates beauty and talent: award-winning photographers and ambassadors of the city around the world.
An atmosphere of emotion, pride and belonging enveloped the Atrium of the Pirandello Theatre in Agrigento on the evening of Friday 1 August, when, in front of a large and enthusiastic audience, the awards ceremony for the photography competitions dedicated to the Almond Blossom Festival and the Feast of San Calogero took place .
The two competitions, conceived 17 years ago by journalist Domenico Vecchio , editor of AgrigentoOggi, have over time become a point of reference for photography enthusiasts, tourists, and lovers of local traditions. Always focused on promoting the area's culture and tourism , the initiative continues to showcase the city through images brimming with emotion and authenticity.
The evening, elegantly presented by Marco Gallo , accompanied by Marilena Patti , alternated artistic moments with awards ceremonies, sparking excitement and applause. The jury, composed of Giada Attanasio (spokesperson), Stella Magnano , Luigi Mula , Lorenzo Rosso , Elio Di Bella , and Marilena Patti , with Domenico Vecchio as president, announced the reasons for the photography awards.
Among the most touching moments was the presentation of awards to those who have distinguished themselves by promoting Agrigento's name around the world through art, communication, and entrepreneurship. Giovanni Taglialavoro (Rai journalist and author), Daniele Magro (singer-songwriter and author for Marco Mengoni), Elena Di Battista (Miss Italy finalist, athlete, and student), Giovanni Greco (president of CVA Canicattì), and the Mancuso Brothers (ambassadors of Sicilian music worldwide) received the Sicilian Pride Award beyond borders as a symbol of their esteem and gratitude.
