In Vals de Saintonge, heritage is revealed thanks to Charentes Tourisme drones

Discover the sites of Fenioux, Taillebourg, Neuvicq-le-Château and Saint-Jean-d'Angély as you have never seen them before, thanks to the immersion flights offered by Charentes Tourisme
Charentes Tourisme offers immersive flights... all while keeping your feet firmly on the ground. Virtual reality headsets offer a new perspective on local heritage. Thanks to the support of two local companies (Switch Production and Colilab), the Vals de Saintonge branch of Charentes Tourisme has been offering unique experiences for the past two summers.
Tourists can now familiarize themselves with some of the gems of local heritage by flying over them... without leaving ground. The sites of Fenioux, Taillebourg, Neuvicq-le-Château, and Saint-Jean-d'Angély thus take on a new dimension.
For five minutes, visitors (equipped with a virtual reality headset) can fly over these buildings using a drone piloted by one of the two professionals. Karen Brisson, a mediator at Charentes Tourisme, provides information about the heritage site while watching her control screen. "The exercise isn't necessarily easy, but it's fascinating. Above all, you have to be careful to respect the drone pilot's timing."
Architectural detailsAmazed, the heritage lover was able to discover the existence of imposing statues on a balcony located at the top of the Saint-Joseph de Fenioux church. Thanks to the drone! Without it, the tourist at the foot of the church would not be able to see this particularity. On vacation in the Vals de Saintonge, Camille (from Mayenne) appreciated this experience. "We go really high and I was able to discover all the greenery around the church."
The drone can fly about 110 meters above the ground. Piloted by professionals, it allows you to see details of architectural masterpieces. The next immersion flights (1) will take place on Thursday, August 7 at 11 a.m. in the grounds of the Château de Taillebourg, on Thursday, August 14 at 11 a.m. at the Château de Neuvicq-le-Château, on Thursday, August 21 at 11 a.m. at the Fenioux Lantern of the Dead, and finally on Thursday, August 28 at 11 a.m. at the towers of the Abbey of Saint-Jean-d'Angély.
