Biarritz: The marathon is tomorrow! Participants parade to collect their race numbers at the Iraty Hall.

This Saturday, May 3, runners will be parading at the Iraty market hall to collect their race numbers for the Biarritz marathon. A total of 15,000 runners are expected, covering three distances: 42, 21, and 12 km.
It's the final stretch before the fourth edition of the Biarritz Marathon. Tomorrow, Sunday, May 4, 15,000 runners will take on one of three distances: a 42 km marathon for the most experienced (2,000 will start at 7 a.m.), a 21 km half-marathon (which will bring together 8,000 registrants starting at 8:30 a.m.), and a 12 km run along the beaches, which will start at 10 a.m.
Participants have been parading since 9 a.m. this Saturday, May 5, at the Iraty market hall to collect the precious bib that will give them the right to start the next morning.
All that's left is for them to rest and mentally prepare. The marathoners will have to cover 450 meters of elevation gain, which is unusual for such an event. The course passes through the towns of Bassussarry, Arcangues, Arbonne, and Bidart.
