Depression, financial dependence, psychological violence: Lauren Southern, a former tradwife with lost illusions

"Why I'm not a feminist" is the title of the YouTube video with which Lauren Southern came out of the woodwork in 2015, published by the Canadian far-right media Rebel News. The influencer, born in British Columbia and with long blond hair, was 19 years old at the time and claimed that women were greatly advantaged in their daily lives. Examples: they would systematically obtain custody of children in the event of divorce or would have no difficulty in getting out of situations of domestic violence... Unsurprisingly, Lauren Southern achieved international notoriety that she put to the service of the North American far right (a label she refutes, preferring to be called "conservative" ). And she then joined the tradwives movement.
