Pagny-le-Château. Dam visit: awareness and flood risk management

On Saturday, June 14, around thirty residents were able to discover the Pagny-le-Château navigation dam during a visit organized by the Saône et Doubs Public Territorial Basin Establishment (EPTB), in partnership with Voies Navigables de France (VNF), the site manager.
Located on the Saône River, which has an exceptionally low gradient (approximately 1 cm per kilometer), this infrastructure plays a key role in local water management, particularly for navigation. "The dam is equipped with flaps to regulate the water level upstream to ensure sufficient depth for the passage of boats," explains Jérôme Quittard, head of the territorial unit at VNF.
